Pak-China-Afghan FMs to hold talks on Indian aggression today

A crucial trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan will take place in Beijing today amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

The high-level talks will focus on regional security cooperation and efforts to strengthen trade among the three neighbouring nations.

The meeting comes at a critical time as South Asia reels from the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack and the brief military confrontation between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is on a three-day official visit to China, was warmly received in Beijing by senior Chinese officials and Pakistan’s ambassador upon arrival.

Dar’s trip marks the beginning of a robust diplomatic offensive following Pakistan’s successful Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. He is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, later today.

Their discussion will span a range of regional issues, particularly the recent Indo-Pak tensions, their broader impact on South Asia, and ways to restore stability.

Dar meets Chinese Communist Party Minister Liu Jianchao

Ishaq Dar met with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), during his official visit to Beijing, the Pakistan Foreign Office confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the spokesperson, Dar expressed deep appreciation for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and vital national interests.

He acknowledged Beijing’s consistent role as a reliable and steadfast partner in times of both peace and crisis.

Liu Jianchao, during the meeting, reaffirmed China’s commitment to prioritising its relationship and strategic partnership with Pakistan, describing the two nations as "iron brothers" bound by deep mutual trust and shared goals.

The two leaders agreed to further strengthen the interaction between Pakistan’s political parties and the Communist Party of China.

They underscored the importance of enhancing people-to-people connections and fostering greater understanding and cooperation at the political level.

Dar, speaking before his departure, had strongly refuted India’s accusations linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident, asserting that New Delhi’s narrative has failed to convince the international community. “We have provided the world with evidence that debunks India’s false claims,” he said.

Afghan interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is also scheduled to arrive in Beijing today. He will join the trilateral session and separately hold talks with his Chinese counterpart on regional peace, security, and cooperation.
