Prince Rahim Aga Khan V arrives in Islamabad on official visit

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for an official visit to Pakistan, according to the Presidency.

Upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, the Ismaili spiritual leader was received by President Asif Ali Zardari.

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V was later presented with a guard of honour at the President House, where he stood alongside President Zardari during the playing of the national anthem.

A statement issued in this regard said the Aga Khan will remain in Pakistan from May 20 to May 26 and is scheduled to hold meetings with government officials as well as representatives from Gilgit-Baltistan during his stay in the federal capital.

Officials said preparations in Gilgit-Baltistan for the visit have been intensified, with federal and regional authorities mobilising resources to ensure smooth arrangements for the high-profile engagements.
