As the Covid-19’s fatal blows were not enough to kill the Pakistanis, six suspected coronavirus patients died at two different hospitals due to the negligence of the administrations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The administrations at the two hospitals of Rawalpindi and Sargodha showed utter negligence as they failed to arrange a timely supply of oxygen for the patients.
The Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) ran short of oxygen and as the RIU administration tried to shift the 13 suspected coronavirus patients to Holy Family Hospital one patient, Qazi Shabbir Jan, who was on a ventilator, breathed his last while another two patients, Saif Mahmood and Surayya Hassan, passed away after reaching the hospital. They could not get oxygen after reaching the Holy Family Hospital. The remaining 10 patients have now been put on the ventilators.
Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid had inaugurated Corona Management Centre at the RIU a few days ago and when the journalists tried to confront the acting Medical Superintendent, Dr Nosheen Randhawa, she declined to comment on the situation.
When the reporters insisted, Dr Randhawa said she was very busy and cannot give her version right now.
Meanwhile, another three suspected coronavirus patients died due to the negligence of the administration at Sargodha’s DHQ Hospital. All of them died due to non-availability of the oxygen.
According to the Sargodha focal person, the supply after central oxygen pressure went down. He claimed the three coronavirus patients were in serious condition and did not die of oxygen shortage.
Later, the supply has been restored with the help of oxygen cylinders.
