At least 11 people including eight women were injured when a blast caused a huge fire that engulfed the home they were staying in Attock district early Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The blast was triggered by gas leakage in the house in the Farooq Azam Colony of Attock and was so intense that it shook the whole area.

According to the Rescue officials, all the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors described the condition of three of the wounded as very serious who were later referred to Rawalpindi.

Rescue officials said the blast took place as wedding celebrations were going on in the house.

All the injured were guests who came from Lahore to attend the wedding ceremony.
