Election Commission takes notice of Sohail Afridi's 'threatening remarks'
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of a recent statement made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Officials said Afridi's “threatening remarks” were directed at government employees during a rally in Havelian.
According to sources, the Commission moved swiftly after its monitoring team submitted a report highlighting the CM’s remarks as a potential violation of electoral and administrative conduct.
Sources say the Election Commission has decided to initiate action against the chief minister and has summoned a high-level meeting at 11:30 am on Thursday to review the matter. During the meeting, officials will examine the monitoring report in detail and consider the nature of legal proceedings that may be pursued.
