Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the Sindh Police Headquarters on Tuesday evening and held a meeting with Sindh Police Inspector General (IG) Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar and other senior police officers.
At the meeting, Bilawal expressed solidarity with the Sindh Police and asked Mahar to continue working on his current post.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who accompanied Bilawal to the Sindh Police Headquarters and meeting with senior police officers, announced on this occasion that arrest of PML-N leader Captain (Retired) Muhammad Safdar would be investigated. He called Safdar’s arrest a conspiracy and said it would not be overlooked.
It was said that the man who submitted an application to the Karachi Police against Safdar has been identified as Waqas and he has pictures with some MPAs associated with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Earlier in a tweet, Bilawal expressed solidarity with the Sindh Police.

Karachi Police had arrested Safdar from a hotel room where he was staying with his wife Maryam Nawaz early on Monday morning. He was accused of violating protocols at the shrine of the Father of The Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah during his visit to the place on Sunday.
Maryam and Safdar had landed in Karachi on Sunday to attend an anti-government meeting of the opposition parties hosted by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 11 opposition political parties currently trying to topple the federal government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Safdar was released later on Monday evening on the orders of the court. However, the arrest became controversial.
Earlier, Bilawal had called upon the army chief and the intelligence chief to take notice of the incident and order an investigation into it.
