PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said reference had been filed against the government in the people’s court which wasn’t bogus like the NAB (National Accountability Bureau).

Maryam, in a series of tweets, remarked that the way Nawaz Sharif’s narrative was reaching every household, the government would soon have to register cases against 222 million, not 2,200, people.

She was referring to a case registered with the Shahdara Police Station in which it has been alleged that Maryam, Capt Safdar, Malik Riaz, Samiullah Khan, Pervaiz Malik, Ali Pervaiz Malik and others violated the security SOPs and the Punjab Sound Systems (Regulation) Act. A total of 2,200 identified people have been nominated in the FIR.

Meanwhile, another case filed in Gujranwala which accused PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah, Khurram Dastgir MNA and others of resisting police and trying to crush them while driving an SUV.

Khurram, Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk MNA and others have already been nominated in another case, accusing them of violating the coronavirus SOPs and blocking the roads on Friday last week.

About the arrest of Capt Safdar in Karachi, Maryam said prisons won’t have the capacity to house the people if the government continued registering cases over chanting the slogan of Vote Ko Izzat Do (respect the vote).

The people wouldn’t have been cursing you Mr Niazi if had focused on solving their problems instead of targeting the opposition, said the PML-N vice president who cited the latest 22 to 35 percent increase in medicines’ prices.

API Response:

Talking about the public reaction experienced by Punjab Minister Yasmin Rashid who had leave the area after she tried to visit Lahore’s Hafeez Centre torched in an inferno the other day, she warned the government would have to face people’s wrath amid the skyrocketing prices of food items, making these out of their reach.

Addressing the masses, Maryam said, “Only that government would be affected by the increase in the price of your medicine, your bread [and] your electricity which will come into power by your vote. The government formed against your will never be your will wisher.”
