The popular singing competition American Idol achieved the milestone of completing the 20th anniversary of the show. 

The judges of the show singer Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Byran, Ryan Seacrest (host of the show) along the crew members were presented at the occasion.

The 20th anniversary party took place on Sunday which included a cake-cutting ceremony. The event was held during the round auditions of American Idol in Los Angeles.

The judges of the show expressed joy in their own ways. Lionel Richie took to his Twitter account and dropped a tweet in which he said, “20 years and we’re keeping this party running all night long”.

Another judge of the show and country singer, Luke Byran took to his Instagram handle and wrote in his caption, “Things are looking UP for our 20th year of American Idol. Who’s ready?”

Moreover, singer Katy Perry also took to her Instagram and dropped series of snaps. She wrote: “Year 20 is underway and mama ain’t here to play”.

The “Firework” singer has grossed over 139 million followers on her Instagram account.
