Supreme Court decides to hold inquiry into LG restoration delay

The Supreme Court has decided to hold an investigation into the delay in the local bodies’ restoration in the Punjab province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The apex court was hearing the local government restoration case on Wednesday.
While deciding to hold an inquiry into the delay in the reinstatement of local government institutions, the court also summoned the certified copies of the Lahore High Court verdicts on the case.
The court also sought the written answers of the Punjab government and the government officials submitted to the high court in this regard.
It ordered the incumbent Punjab chief secretary, former Punjab chief secretary and secretary local government to appear personally before the court during n the next hearing.
The case has been adjourned for two weeks.
A two-judge SC bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmad heard the case.
