Eminent Sindhi poet Mama Juman Darbadar dies at 78

Eminent Sindhi poet and nationalist leader Mama Juman Darbadar passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest at the age of 78, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was known as the poet of love and revolution. Upon the news of his death there prevailed an atmosphere of sadness across Sindh.
Juman was born on May 12, 1944 in Rohal Vai—a small village of Umerkot district. Due to his intense love for Sindh, he was known as “Mama Juman Darbadar” in the literary and nationalist circles.
A collection of his poetry has also been published. A popular Sindhi song of him was translated into English which goes as:
In every age, we will return,
My love, on the banks of Sindhu we will meet
When the darkness passes, on that full moon night we will meet
Juman was also a well-known political and peasant rights activist.
As a public poet of Sindh, his poetry is sung and listened to in his own voice at public level and in the political, literary and social events of Sindh.
He was also famous for humour and satire.
He will be laid to rest near Umerkot after his funeral prayers at noon today.
