People belonging to the housing societies opened fire on the locals when they staged a protest against the inauguration of the Islamabad Federal Employees and Supreme Court Bar societies to be connected to Park Road in the Tamari area of Chak Shehzad in Islamabad.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the local residents during their protest against the murder of a youth from the housing societies’ members damaged vehicles while the opponents used iron rods and sticks against the protesters.

The channel report said the police did not interfere to stop the clash and oppression from the people of the housing society.

The Federal Employees and Supreme Court Bar Societies was connected to Park Road by 600 kanals of land and some time ago, a youth belonging to the area was killed while connecting the societies and Park Road.

The locals staged a protest against the lack of progress in the murder case and held the inauguration ceremony from the rival housing society, the local people protested and vandalized.

A heavy contingent of police and district administration reached the spot to bring the situation under control

The locals during their protest demanded the government that they should be compensated for the lands.
