Khairpur police on Thursday deployed armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and policemen in large numbers to launch an operation to clear the Kacha (riverine) area from dacoits, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Khairpur senior superintendent of police (SSP) and the assistant superintendent of police (ASP) visited different areas of Kacha and took briefings from the officers concerned on the operation against the dacoits.

SSP Mir Rohal Khan Khoso made a detailed inspection of Kacha from different angles, and he issued directions for increasing the police pickets around the Kacha area and deploying more personnel.

He vowed to clean the Kacha area from the dacoits. “The Kacha area will be cleared of dacoits. These dacoits have become a symbol of terror,” he said.

“The dacoits flee to the Kacha area after committing crimes. Their way of escape will now be blocked,” he added.

“The police are always ready to make every sacrifice to protect the lives and properties of the people. The elimination of dacoits is necessary to rid the area of crime,” he stated.
