Musarrat Cheema asks govt to rehabilitate flood-hit people before winter
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema has said the survey in the flood-hit areas should be completed as soon as possible and relief should be provided to the affected people so that they can settle in their homes before the onset of the winter season.
Musarrat said the government should provide all agricultural inputs to the affected farmers free of charge. In a statement, she said that reports from international financial institutions indicated that floods would affect Pakistan’s economic indicators.
Along with agriculture, she said, full attention needs to be paid to the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure. She said that many schools were badly affected by the floods and children’s education was suffering as a result.
Musarrat said the rehabilitation process of the flood victims should be completed on a war footing.
