Karachi police on Tuesday arrested a callous person who killed his 12-year-old boy by setting him ablaze allegedly for not doing homework in Orangi Town, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The family of the deceased boy, Shaheer, made shocking revelations while talking to 24NewsHD TV channel. His mother said that she remained silent out of fear of her husband. “Earlier, he had burnt a hand of our seven-year-old son for flying kite,” she alleged.

“Father used to scold his children a lot. He never taught them with love,” said Shahzain, brother of Shaheer.

“On the day of incident, father grabbed kerosene oil and a match and said ‘today we will do research and development’,” Shahzain alleged.

Shaheer's cruel father in police custody.

“He then poured all the kerosene oil on Shaheer. Our aunt tried to save him but failed as father lit a match and threw it on him,” he added.

“After being set on fire, Shaheer was running across the house. So, father threw a blanket on him. He then calmly wore his slippers and took him to a hospital where he died,” Shahzain maintained.

The maternal grandparents of Shaheer became overwhelmingly sad as soon as the news of his tragic death reached them. They said that he was their favourite. “He had been very caring and loving whenever he visited us,” they stated.

“A great injustice was meted out to him. We have no idea when we will get relief from the grief of his tragic death,” they added.

The neighbours also expressed their shock and grief over the gruesome incident and said that Shaheer was a very diligent and polite child, adding that he had been wronged greatly.

“We cannot understand why the cruel father went to this extreme. He should be punished severely as per the law,” they stressed.

The cousins and friends of Shaheer were also saddened by his demise, and they said that he was very good at studies and also most prominent in sports.
