Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz said Tuesday while talking to media in Islamabad that former premier Imran Khan was a bully and imposter, adding it was necessary to bring forth the hypocrisy of that imposter, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan had a habit of bullying the institutions whenever he was faced with a difficulty, adding the courts needed to discourage that behaviour for it was in favour of neither institutions nor the country.

“I do not want to talk about Imran Khan. I believe he is a non-issue. We all should discard him and put our focus on the real issues of Pakistan,” Maryam Nawaz pointed out.

“But, it is necessary to bring forth the hypocrisy of this imposter. The hypocrisy of this imposter should be exposed before the nation,” she added.

“Imran Khan asks his followers to break the idols of fear. He says to them to get freedom from the chains of slavery. He says ‘If they intimidate you, you must intimidate them. If they threaten you, you must threaten them’,” Maryam said.

“If I were there in front of him, I would ask him ‘You himself do not have the courage to take names of the persons and call them by the nicknames of Mr. X and Mr. Y. What lesson are you giving to the nation by doing this?” she questioned.

“What is X, Y and Z? If you have got anything, [then] bring forth the evidence,” she asked Imran Khan. “It is not possible that you challenge the institutions in public meetings and then hold meetings with them in secret,” she castigated him.

“Imran Khan objects to the secret relations of his party-men with the establishment and their secret meetings with the latter. But, did Imran Khan ever tell his party whom he held secret meetings with?” she questioned further.

“Imran Khan must tell the nation and the core committee of his party with whom he has met in secret,” Maryam Nawaz said.

She also lambasted Imran Khan for, what she said, using religion for personal gains. “In this country, only Imran Khan is allowed to say whatever he wants,” she deplored and added that he only wanted to conceal his thefts.

“The persons, who Imran Khan is a favourite of, want to have their works done. Those making a case against Javed Latif should first look at what they himself are talking about,” she stated.

“The truth is never concealed; it comes out one day in front of everyone. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) got away in my case,” she maintained.

Earlier, Maryam Nawaz and her husband Capt (Retd) Safdar appeared before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for hearing of appeals in the Avon Field reference.

During the hearing of the case, Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that the appeal of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had not been dismissed on merit. “The NAB has to prove that the punishment given by the trial court was right,” he added.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said, “Any observation of the Supreme Court can be of no benefit for the NAB.”
