One Battle After Another: Leonardo DiCaprio joins co-stars in Mexico City 

Leonardo DiCaprio stepped out in Mexico City this week alongside his One Battle After Another co-stars as Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film continues to generate extraordinary Oscar buzz.

The 50-year-old actor attended a photocall at the Monumento a la Revolución on Thursday with cast members Chase Infiniti, 25, and Benicio del Toro, 58. DiCaprio looked sharp in a grey suede jacket layered over a blue polo shirt and smart black trousers, finishing the look with dark sunglasses.

His co-star Chase Infiniti stunned in a leather mini dress with a dramatic puff-ball hem, while del Toro opted for a sleek black shirt and trousers paired with trainers.

The appearance comes as bookmakers and critics alike tip the film as a major contender for the 2026 Academy Awards. Bookmaker Coral currently has One Battle After Another at 4-5 to take home the Best Picture prize, while DiCaprio himself is odds-on at 1-2 to win Best Actor for the second time in his career.

“After glowing reviews, One Battle After Another has been heavily backed to win Best Picture at next year’s Oscars,” Coral spokesperson John Hill said. “Leonardo DiCaprio is the star name, and he is odds-on to win Best Actor again.”

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and loosely based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, the action-thriller has been hailed as “the defining film of a generation.” Critics have likened it to Anderson’s past masterpieces Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood, and Phantom Thread.

The Standard’s Nick Howells awarded the film five stars, writing: “Anderson has directed the coolest, most consummately masterful movie you’re likely to see all year. And it’s got Oscars glory just oozing out of every frame.”

The film sees DiCaprio play Bob Ferguson, a dishevelled revolutionary living off-grid with his daughter Willa in a haze of paranoia. The story follows Bob as he reconnects with former allies on a dangerous mission to find his missing daughter. Benicio del Toro plays his wise mentor, guiding him through a life defined by chaos and fear.
