The federal government has submitted its reply to the Sindh High Court (SHC) in a plea against in-person exams of A and O levels.
A couple of weeks ago, a group of students moved the court saying that such steps might result in putting hundreds of lives at risk of being hit by the deadly coronavirus.
The decision to take physical O and A level exams was taken after approval from the National Command and Operation Centre, the court told.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked the government lawyer to argue after deliberating upon the issue with the federal government. The court also directed lawyers to submit arguments on April 22.
Farooq Sattar shows solidarity with students
Dr Farooq Sattar of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan showed up at the court to express solidarity the students.
The students shouted slogans in favour of Sattar while the court staff stopped them from sloganeering.
Speaking on the occasion, he came down hard on authorities for what he called such steps will result in adding to students’ sufferings.
