On the order of National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser, a letter has been issued to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in which he has been asked to explain his position and apologize within seven days over the unpleasant incident that took place on the floor of the House on April 20 (Tuesday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Abbasi has been issued the letter for constantly refusing to listen to the speaker during the sessions, and particularly misbehaving with him on April 20.
The letter says that Abbasi’s non-parliamentary attitude obstructed the smooth flow of the assembly session on that day.
It is stated in the letter that the PML-N leader, through his conduct, not only disturbed the continuity of the session but by doing so also ridiculed the stature of the speaker.
The letter states that in the event of Abbasi’s failure to respond, it would be deemed that he had nothing to say in his defense.
It is reminded here that PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had threatened NA Speaker Asad Qaiser with hurling a shoe at him.
