Blue tick vanishes from Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz accounts

Twitter began the mass removal of its blue ticks and vanished verified accounts of Pakistani prominent figures including Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz, Shahid Afridi, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Babar Azam.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the blue ticks as the symbol previously used to signify a verified Twitter account of elites.

But now owner Elon Musk of Twitter offered instead to sell the blue badge to anyone who would pay $8 a month.

So, Twitter has now removed the checkmarks of high-profile accounts.

Some Bollywood actors and actresses and cricketers' verified Twitter accounts with blue ticks have vanished under the new policy.
