Pakistan extends airspace ban on Indian aircraft for another month

Pakistan has extended closure of its airspace for Indian aircraft by another month, which has now entered its second year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the latest notice issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), the ban on Indian aviation operations will remain in force for another month.

The notice to airmen (NOTAM) specifies that Indian-registered, leased, commercial as well as military aircraft will not be permitted to use Pakistani airspace during this period.

The latest NOTAM states that the restriction will remain effective until 5:00 am on May 24, 2026.

Pakistan initially closed its airspace to Indian aircraft on April 23, 2025, amid heightened tensions between the two countries. Since then, the ban has been extended multiple times.

The continued closure is reported to have resulted in significant financial losses to Indian airlines, running into billions of rupees, as carriers are forced to take longer alternate routes for international flights.
