Cynthia Richie’s security guards misbehave with 24News reporter

Security guards of US national Cynthia D Richie, who had to be admitted to Islamabad’s Polyclinic Hospital after she fainted at her apartment due to food poisoning, on Saturday misbehaved with 24News reporter Saba Bajeer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, 24News team was present outside the Polyclinic at the time of US blogger’s discharge from the hospital that her guards not only beat up Saba but also snatched her mobile phone besides threatening to kill her.
Meanwhile, condemning the incident senior journalists have demanded action against those involved in the incident.
National Press Club President Shakeel Anjum said it was unfortunate that the capital administration swung into action only after TV channels broke the news.
He further said that the act of snatching a mobile phone from Saba was ‘theft’ or ‘dacoity’.
He said that the guards who had manhandled her should be sent to jail so this could deter people from committing such offences in future.
National Press Club president threatened the government with protests if the police did not register a case of the incident.
Senior office-bearer of PFUJ Afzal Butt said that snatching a cellphone from an on-duty journalist deserved to be condemned in the strongest possible terms. “The saddest part of this episode is that she was also beaten up. Whether the perpetrator of the crime is an American or holds any other nationality, justice should be done,” he asserted.
