Police complete inquiry into Shahbaz Gill’s torture allegations

The police on Sunday completed inquiry into the allegations of torture on PTI leader and Imran Khan’s chief of staff Shahbaz Gill, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The inquiry was completed under the supervision of Islamabad IG police. Four leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf including Fawad Chaudhry, Raja Khurram, Ali Awan and Usman Dar appeared before the inquiry committee to record their statements.
According to sources, the PTI leaders provided the committee with alleged unconfirmed specific body parts’ pictures. But the party leaders could not give satisfactory answer when grilled about the source and timing of the images.
The committee also recorded statements of the physicians and compiled a report.
The report will be submitted to the Islamabad High Court tomorrow.
ICT police threaten legal action against false allegations
The Islamabad police denied allegations of “torture” of Dr Shahbaz Gill describing them absurd while asserting that a legal action will be taken against false allegations.
On its Twitter handle on Sunday, the Islamabad police wrote: “Islamabad police will continue its duties diligently. Anyone making threats or allegations will be dealt with according to law. Islamabad Police takes its work seriously for the people and the country.
“We have taken an oath to serve the nation at all times. All officers and men are rendering their services with full responsibility and will continue to render them. Police is an organized institution, we are bound to perform our duties in all circumstances. And cannot show any kind of disorder.
“Islamabad Capital Police as an institution will take legal action against all false allegations.”
