Islamabad Police deploy over 830 personnel for Imran Khan’s hospital security
Islamabad Police have implemented a comprehensive security plan for PTI founder Imran Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital in H-8, deploying more than 830 officers and personnel in and around the facility.
Under the plan, security at the hospital and surrounding areas will remain on high alert, with the force operating in two 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am and from 7am to 7pm.
Four SSPs/AIGs and four SPs will be deployed on security duty, while 737 constables, two gazetted officers and two inspectors will also perform duties under the plan.
SSP Counter Terrorism Department Saud Khan will oversee the overall security arrangements, while SP Saddar, SP Sohan Zone and the relevant sub-divisional police officers will supervise deployment in their respective areas.
The Islamabad deputy commissioner will nominate a magistrate in accordance with the security plan. Arrangements will also be made for ambulances and fire brigade vehicles from the Capital Development Authority to remain available around the clock.
The AIG Special Branch has been tasked with maintaining surveillance and immediately conveying relevant information to the competent authorities.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad will regulate traffic around Shifa International Hospital to ensure smooth movement and prevent congestion.
Four police pickets have been established at different locations around the hospital and along the service road, while police personnel have also been deployed at every entry and exit point of the facility.
Plainclothes police personnel have been stationed around the hospital as part of the surveillance arrangements.
Two armoured vehicles and two prison vans have also been deployed in the vicinity, while round-the-clock police patrolling will continue around the hospital.
Rooftop security personnel will be positioned on the hospital and nearby high-rise buildings to strengthen security and surveillance.
Islamabad Police said the measures introduced under the security plan would remain in force until further notice.
