Fayyaz Chohan dislikes Firdous Ashiq, Maryam Nawaz boxing bout
Punjab Minister of Punjab for Prisons and Colonies Fayyaz Chohan expressing his displeasure over the idea of the boxing match between PTI Firdous Ashiq Awan and PML-N Maryam Nawaz Sharif said he does not support such a match in the wrestling rings.
“I don’t like much judo karate or boxing matches in actual between political personalities,” said Chohan.
It is pertinent to note that Punjab CM’s Special Assistant on Media Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday accepted a challenge to have a boxing bout with PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz.
The challenge was proposed by internationally-acclaimed boxer Amir Khan, who was addressing media persons along with Firdous Ashiq Awan and Balochistan boxer Muhammad Waseem in Lahore on Sunday.
Amir Khan said whether Firdous Ashiq Awan would like to fight in the ring with Maryam Nawaz saying it will be one of the highest-rated fights in Pakistan.
Dr Firdous Awan accepted the challenge and said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan has knocked out Mian Nawaz Sharif using his legal punches.”
She said Maryam Nawaz Sharif will be knocked out in the first round of the bout.
On the other hand, PML-N leader Azma Bokhari responded to Dr Firdous on social networking website Twitter, and said, “As you know Maryam Nawaz is a Rajkumari who is trying to save the people from the government's punches of inflation, unemployment and corruption.”
However, Minister for Colonies and Prisons Punjab Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan disliked the idea of boxing matches.
He was addressing a media person in Lahore. Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan took notice of the death of three prisoners in District Jail Gujarat.
The Prisons Minister said he contacted IG Prisons and Superintendent Jail Gujarat and according to preliminary information, the three prisoners died at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital in Gujarat.
“One was an AIDS patient, the second died of an asthma attack while the third one caught cardiac arrest,” he further said. Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan has also sought detailed reports from IG Prisons and Superintendent Jail within 24 hours.
