Former prime minister and PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have inflicted a heavy defeat on the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in the local government polls, rejecting the policies of the government altogether, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to media on Tuesday outside an accountability court in Islamabad where he came to attend the hearing of his case, the former premier said the PTI’s rout in KP’s LG showed that people no longer had trust in this government and they rejected the PTI in the LG polls. He said now it would be difficult for the ruling party to rig the election. People will humiliate the ‘election thieves’, he added.

He raised objection over the working of NAB Chairman asking him why he didn’t leave the office as his term had expired three months ago. Calling him a ‘daily wager chairman’, Mr Abbasi taunted that people were in the habit of sticking to their chairs despite the fact that their terms had expired.
He said one day all such people would be made accountable of their misdeeds. But this accountability would not be done in courts where justice was for sale and courts worked under pressure. Rather people would hold them accountable for all their offences, he added.
He asked the NAB chief to tell the nation that how many politicians he had convicted and how much money he had recovered from them.
He said when time would come they would become petitioners and ask the current rulers how did they loot people after raising prices of sugar, flour and medicines And how much money they had made in the tenders of furnace oil, LNG and electricity agreements. He said someday the reality of all the ‘dacoits’ who were sitting around the Cabinet table would come to light.
