10 Uzbeks among 11 killed in road accident on Reko Diq Project Site Road

At least 11 people were killed and six others injured in a severe traffic accident on the Reko Diq Project Site Road in Chaghi district, sources said on Sunday.

According to sources, the accident occurred when a PSO oil tanker collided head-on with a passenger vehicle, resulting in heavy casualties. The driver of the passenger vehicle, reportedly a resident of Taftan, died on the spot.

Sources said that 10 of the deceased were foreign nationals of Uzbek origin who were travelling towards Iran at the time of the accident. The collision caused extensive damage to the passenger vehicle.

Six people sustained injuries in the incident, three of whom were reported to be in critical condition. The injured were immediately shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Nokundi, where they were provided first aid.

Sources added that after initial medical treatment, the critically injured victims were referred to higher medical facilities for advanced care.

Authorities have started an investigation into the cause of the accident, while rescue and relief operations were carried out at the scene.
