Court grants DSP Usman Haider's 4-day physical remand to police

A District and Session Court of Lahore approved a four-day physical remand of District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Usman Haider in the murder case of his wife and daughter, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

During the hearing of the case, the accused DSP Usman Haider was produced in the court in the case file under Section 302.

SSP Investigation Mohammad Naveed said that all resources are being used against the accused, and no one will be allowed to take the law into his hands.

DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said that a sound challan of the case will be presented in the court.

Earlier, on December 17, 2025, police recovered the alleged murder weapon in a shocking domestic murder case, in which DSP Usman Haider stands accused of killing his wife and daughter.

The pistol is reportedly not government-issued and has been sent for forensic testing.

DSP Haider remains in police custody on a three-day physical remand, during which investigators are conducting further questioning.

The case has been registered at Burki Police Station, and the court has directed police to present any recovered items before it. The suspect is scheduled to be produced again on December 18.

The Punjab Police confirmed that DSP Haider allegedly fired the recovered pistol at his wife and daughter following a domestic dispute.

According to sources, he had two marriages, and the deceased woman was his first wife, contracted through a love marriage.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has suspended DSP Haider, following a report submitted by the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, and departmental action under police rules has been initiated.
