Either be with us or with Fitnatul Khawarij, Field Marshal tells Afghan Taliban
Asim Munir says only state can give order for Jihad; Adds felt Almighty Allah’s help coming during Operation Bunyanun Marsus
Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir has categorically told the Afghan Taliban that either be with Pakistan or with Fitnatul Khawarij, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Addressing the national Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, CDF General Asim Munir said that in an Islamic state, no one could give an order for jihad, except the state.
He said that terrorists, supported by the Afghan Taliban, were killing innocent men, women and children in Pakistan. “There are 70 per cent Afghans in the formations of Fitnatul Khawarij, which come from Afghanistan,” he said, adding, “Taliban will have to opt either for Fitnatul Khawarij or Pakistan.”
He further said that among Islamic countries, the Almighty Allah gave Pakistan the honour to protect the Grand Mosque. Field Marshal said there was a deep connection between the state of Tayyaba and the state of Pakistan. “It was in the holy month of Ramadan that Pakistan was created.”
Munir said that the Almighty Allah helped the Pakistan Army during Bunyanun Marsus. “Everybody of us could feel that the Almighty is with us.” During his address, he also touched upon the issues confronting the country, terrorism, matters of national security, emerging role of Pakistan in the world. Religious scholars from across the country, belonging to different sects, participated in the conference.
