Utility prices have gone thru the roof during PTI reign

The PTI government has broken all records of hike in the electricity, gas and petrol prices in its rule spanning 3.5 years as the power and gas consumers have to bear an extra burden of Rs1,000 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to statistical data, the prices of all utilities have gone through the roof during the PTI reign. People are forced to pay extra charges for power, petrol and gas. The government put extra burden of Rs1,000 billion on the electricity consumers.

Not only this, the consumers have to bear the burden of monthly adjustment charges in their electricity tariff.

The rate of basic electricity tariff was raised by Rs9.20/unit under the head of quarter monthly adjustment charges.

Under this head, electricity prices were increased eight times.

During the current PTI reign, the prices of petroleum products have been hiked by Rs64.62/litre.

The high speed diesel price has registered an increase of Rs41.21/litre; kerosene oil Rs42.60/litre and light diesel has seen a hike of Rs48.60/litre in PTI’s 3.5 years rule.

Since August 2018, the gas prices have been jacked up by 334%.
