The Sindh government has decided to launch a massive crackdown on unregistered vehicles following the terrorist attack on Karachi Police Office (KPO), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
In an effort to protect the metropolis from any potential threats, the provincial government has decided to intensify the security measures throughout the city.
Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the provincial government would initiate a crackdown on unregistered vehicles from February 28.
He warned that a strict action would be taken against the vehicles on the violation of law, saying that no one would be spared once the campaign started.
Memon further said that no showroom owner was authorised to sell an unregistered vehicle.
“Operations have been taken against the unregistered vehicles, tinted glasses, and fancy number plates during the past few months,” said an official.
He asked the owners of the vehicles to get their vehicles registered within the stipulated one-week period, adding there would be no relaxation after that.
