Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated in an interview on Friday that the politics of chaos will soon end forever, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported.
As per the channel report, the defence minister criticised the opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that their politics revolves around one man rather than the country’s welfare.
Commenting on Army Chief General Asim Munir’s visit to the UK, he said the trip is of great importance as Pakistan and the UK share strong economic and military ties.
The defence minister said Pak Army Chief General Asim Munir received a remarkable guard of honour, reflecting the mutual diplomatic relationship.
Lashing out at PTI, Khawaja Asif accused the party of promoting abusive language on social media.
He remarked that PTI’s founder once called the Army Chief the ‘father of the nation’ but later resorted to insulting him.
He further claimed that Imran Khan wanted to appoint Lt. Gen. (retd) Faiz Hameed as Army Chief because he aimed to turn the military into a subordinate institution of PTI.
Khawaja Asif stated that after losing power, PTI is licking its wounds, and in pursuit of its nefarious objectives, it orchestrated the May 9 and November 26 incidents.
