PMA Lahore secures LCCI partnership for International Medical Conference 2026
A delegation of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Lahore, led by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Nizami, called on Faheem-ur-Rehman Sehgal, President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), to discuss strategic collaboration and secure the Chamber’s partnership for the International Medical Conference 2026, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
The PMA delegation comprised Prof Dr Ashraf Nizami (Chairman Conference), Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Khan (Secretary Conference), Dr. Wajid Ali (General Secretary PMA Lahore), Dr Talha Bin Zia Khan (Director TB Control Program Punjab), Dr Iram Shahzadi (Finance Secretary), Dr Bushra Haq (Vice President), Dr. Nadir Khan (Vice President PMA Punjab), and Dr. Maryam Fatima (Joint Secretary PMA Lahore).
The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure LCCI’s participation as a partner in PMA Lahore’s International Medical Conference 2026.
Both sides held detailed discussions on fostering closer ties between the health sector and the industrial community, recognizing the critical interdependence of public health and economic productivity.
It was agreed that LCCI, particularly representatives from industry and the pharmaceutical sector, would actively participate in the conference as partners.
The collaboration aims to establish strong and sustainable linkages between the medical fraternity and industrial stakeholders.
The meeting also finalized plans to organize a special seminar during the conference in collaboration with LCCI, titled “Health of Industrial Workers and Its Impact on the National Economy.”
The seminar will be attended by the Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower, the Secretary of Labour, the Commissioner of Social Security, and prominent labour leaders.
Discussions will focus on occupational health challenges, worker protection mechanisms, and strategies to strengthen the national economy through improved healthcare facilities for industrial workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Nizami emphasized that healthy industrial workers form the backbone of any country’s economy.
Faheem-ur-Rehman Sehgal lauded PMA’s initiative and assured full support from the Chamber for the promotion of industrial workers’ health.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof Dr Ashraf Nizami and PMA office bearers expressed their gratitude to the LCCI President and his team for their warm reception and cooperation.

It was decided in the meeting that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) will participate in the International Medical Conference 2026 of the PMA, especially the industry and the pharma industry, as a partner. This partnership will establish strong links between the medical sector and the industry. It was also decided in the meeting that a special seminar will be organized during the said conference with the participation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce. The title of this seminar will be “Health of Industrial Workers and its Impact on the National Economy”. The seminar will be attended by the Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower, Secretary Labour, Commissioner Social Security and labour leaders. The seminar will discuss the health issues of industrial workers, their protection and ways to strengthen the national economy through better health facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Nizami said that healthy industrial workers are the backbone of the economy of any country. He said that this partnership between the PMA and LCCI will not only help in improving medical facilities but will also play an important role in improving the national economy.
Mr. Faheem-ur-Rehman Sehgal (President LCCI) appreciated the efforts of PMA and said that the Chamber of Commerce will provide all possible support for the promotion of the health of industrial workers. He said that this collaboration between industry and the medical sector will prove to be an important milestone in the industrial development of Lahore and the welfare of workers.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman Conference Professor Ashraf Nizami and PMA office bearers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries and his team for the warm welcome and cooperation.
