Pak-Afghan trade suspended due to stone-crushers’ protest

Pak-Afghan trade was suspended at Qambar point on Friday after a sit-in by Qabail Awami Party activists against shutting down of a crushing plant at Khyber Bara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Leading political leaders of all Afridi tribes, Qabail Awami Party Chairman Abdul Raziq Afridi, former tehsil chairman candidate Saeedullah, Pakistan Awami Revolutionary League President Ataullah Afridi, Shah Jahan of Jamaat-e-Islami, Khan Wali, PPP Dr Sher Shah and hundreds of workers including Abdul Ghani Afridi, Haji Wilayat Khan, Siddique Chirag, Sultan Akbar, Asghar Khan, Sherwali of Maroof Caravan participated in the sit-in protest.

The protesters vowed to continue the protest until the reopening of the Shobar Crush Plant.

A trend with the hashtag #RestoreBaraCrushingPlants was also running on the social networking platform Twitter.
