Three children died and five others received serious burn injuries when a fire swept their house in Lahore on Friday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Eight members of the same family were caught up in the fire at their house in Gulistan Colony in the Chungi Amar Sidhu area, resulting in the deaths of two little girls and a boy while five others including their parents were seriously injured.

The three children – aged two, four and six – were without vital signs and in critical condition when they were pulled from the house by rescue personnel and taken to hospital.

The five injured including a couple and their three other children were rushed to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.

The deceased children were identified as two-year-old Ali Abbas, four-year-old Zahra and six-year-old Laraib.

The injured were identified as 40-year-old Maratab Ali and 35-year-old Farzana Maratab. The injured children were named as Ali Raza, Ali Hassan and Ali Hamza.

The authorities were investigating to determine what caused the fire to start in the house.
