January 21, 2023 11:03 PM

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has informed the Pakistani pilgrims intended to participate in the Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti that no information has so far been received from the Indian Embassy about the visas.

A spokesperson of the ministry asked the pilgrims to reach Lahore on Monday morning instead of Sunday for attending the 810th urs ceremony of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

The 810th Urs of the Sufi will be held in India at the month-end.

The spokesperson said the passports of pilgrims have not yet been received from the Indian embassy. “According to Indian officials, Pakistani pilgrims will be sent to Ajmer on Tuesday.”

Hence, the ministry has asked pilgrims to reach Lahore on Monday at 10 am, instead of Sunday, where they will be handed over visas for India.

According to Indian officials, Pakistani pilgrims will be sent to Ajmer on Tuesday, Jan 24, the spokesperson added.

“The devotees can seek more information from Religious Affairs Ziarat Desk’s phone number 9211670.”
