Terrorist belonging to outlawed TTP arrested in Karachi

Rangers and police in a joint operation arrested a terrorist of outlawed Tehreek-e- Talban Pakistan (TTP) from Karachi and recovered explosives from him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to Rangers spokesman, arrested terrorist Abdul Ghaffar alias Amjad was a close associate of TTP commander Muhammad Ali alias Mufti Khalid.

He said the arrested terrorists and explosive materials were handed over to the police.

The accused had planned a suicide attack on Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine in October 2011.

During investigation he revealed that 5 suicide bombers were called from Karachi to Waziristan for suicide attack.

A terrorist Abu Saleh and his wife are among the suicide bombers and both belonged to Chechnya, a suicide bomber Dadu alias Hasan belonged to Azar Baijan while Suicide bombers Shoaib and Atiq belong to Karachi.

The spokesman told that the accused along with his other suicide bomber companions were going towards the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

The police signaled the accused to stop and there was an exchange of fire between the accused and the police.

However, the accomplices of the accused blew themselves up with a suicide jacket and two police officers were also martyred due to the explosion.

After the incident, the terrorist Abdul Ghaffar escaped from Karachi and was hiding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The arrested accused had come to Karachi again to organize a terrorist network when he was arrested.

The spokesman said raids are being conducted to arrest other accomplices of the accused.
