Police inspector shot dead at Motorway checkpost in Lahore

A police inspector namely Saifullah Niazi was shot dead by a shopkeeper in Shera Kot area of Lahore on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police sources said that the deceased police inspector was performing his duties at Motorway Babu Sabu Interchange in Lahore.
The sources further revealed that a minor clash erupted between the inspected and a shopkeeper who became infuriated and opened fire on the cop resulting in his death on the spot.
Soon after the incident, a Dolphin Police team reached the spot and arrested the shopkeeper who was later identified as Adeel and handed over him to Shera Kot police.
Police claimed to have recovered the murder weapon from the accused.
Further investigation was underway.
