Eight arrested for supplying, selling kites illegally in Pindi, Lahore

Police have arrested seven kite suppliers and seized a container and a loader rickshaw full of kites in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Police received information about the movement of a large quantity of kites and strings.

Police took immediate action and seized the container and loader rickshaw full of kites.

A case was registered against the detained persons.

Kite flying has been declared a non-bailable offence.

Meanwhile, a kite seller has been arrested for selling kites and metal string illegally in the limits of Garhi Shahu police station in Lahore. 

According to police, the accused had ordered kites and metal string from Peshawar on an online order.

The accused Akhlaq Khan was arrested from Katchi Abadi Garhi Shahu.

As many as 782 ready-made kites and four spinning wheels of metal string were recovered from the possession of the accused. 

The accused confessed to having ordered kites on orders from another district and sold them in Lahore.

A case has been registered against the accused Akhlaq Khan and has been handed over for investigation.
