Expats’ biometrics for vehicle sale, purchase will be done through Pak ID app

It has been decided to provide great convenience to overseas Pakistanis on purchase and transfer of vehicles, reported 24NewsD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to Punjab Excise authorities, now, biometrics on vehicle purchase and sale will be done through Pak ID app. 

After Islamabad and Sindh started biometrics on Pak ID, Punjab also became active.

DG Excise Omar Sher Chatha has contacted NADRA again for system integration. 

Biometrics can be done by entering the vehicle number, chassis number and owner's name in NADRA's Pak ID app. 

Earlier, overseas Pakistanis had to get an authority letter verified by the embassy and send it. 

With the transition to the Pak ID app, vehicles will not be able to be fraudulently transferred in the name of overseas. 

Thousands of vehicles are running on open letters due to delays in biometrics. 

Matters between Excise and NADRA regarding overseas were resolved. 

Biometric facilities will be provided soon by integrating the systems of both institutions.
