The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted two-day protective bail to human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha and barred the police from arresting them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Justice Azam Khan also ordered the couple to go to the relevant court within two days.

Earlier, the court admitted for hearing the bail petition filed by Imaan and her husband in the case of interference in official duty during a protest.

A case had been registered against the couple at Kohsar Police Station of the federal capital.

The couple had spent Tuesday night at the Islamabad High Court Bar Association President Wajid Gilani’s office after arrest warrants were issued against them in a fresh FIR that surfaced shortly after the IHC restored their bail in an ongoing case linked to controversial posts on social media.

The case dates back to July 2025.

Islamabad police remained stationed outside the court offices throughout the night, seeking to carry out the arrests of Imaan and Hadi.
