The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday released its latest player rankings, with New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell replacing India’s Virat Kohli as the world’s number one batter in One-Day Internationals, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
ODI batting:
According to the report, Mitchell moved to the top of the ODI batting rankings after consistent performances, while Kohli slipped one place to second. Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran climbed one spot to third, continuing his impressive rise in international cricket.
India’s Rohit Sharma dropped one position to fourth, whereas KL Rahul gained one place to move into the top ten, reaching the 10th position.
Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha also improved his standing, moving up one place to 16th in the ODI batting rankings. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips made a notable jump, climbing 16 places to reach 20th.
ODI bowlers:
In the ODI bowlers’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan maintained his position at the top. Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana moved up one place to third, while South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj advanced to fourth.
Namibia’s Bernard Scholtz was placed fifth, alongside Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, who improved by two positions. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed moved up one spot to eighth, while New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell climbed six places to 33rd.
ODI all-rounders:
In the ODI all-rounders’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai retained his number one position. Michael Bracewell improved by one place to sixth, while Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha rose to 13th.
T20I batting:
The ICC T20I batting rankings saw India’s Abhishek Sharma continue to hold the top position, with England’s Phil Salt remaining second and India’s Tilak Varma staying third.
Among the top ten batters, Pakistan’s only representative was Sahibzada Farhan, who held fifth place. Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran climbed five places to reach 15th.
T20I bowlers:
In the T20I bowlers’ rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy retained his top spot, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan improved by two places to move into second. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed remained steady at fifth.
T20I all-rounders
The T20I all-rounders’ rankings saw Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza holding on to the top position, with Pakistan’s Saim Ayub staying second. Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai climbed one place to ninth, while Rashid Khan moved to 12th.
