World Champion Mohammad Asif wins fifth national snooker title

Three-time world champion Muhammad Asif has claimed his fifth National Snooker Championship title, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.

The final of the 50th National Snooker Championship, held at the National Bank Sports Complex, Karachi, saw Asif defeat Rana Irfan in an intense eleven-frame contest, finishing with a 6-3 victory.

Despite Irfan scoring two century breaks, Asif’s remarkable consistency and skill, including eight century breaks throughout the final, secured him the win.

The trophy and cash prize were presented to the champion by Rahmat Ali Hasni, President of National Bank, while the total prize fund for the event stood at 6 lakh rupees, with Asif taking home 3.5 lakh rupees.

The event was also attended by Abdul Qadir Memon, President of the Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association, along with a large number of enthusiastic fans.
