AJK govt approves 30% increase in DRA allowance for employees

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced a major relief for its employees, approving a 30 percent increase in the disparity allowance (DRA) for all government employees from grade 1 to 22, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday. 

According to a notification issued by the finance department, the enhanced allowance will be effective from July 1, 2025, based on the basic salary as of June 30, 2022.

Employees recruited after July 1, 2022, will receive the allowance according to the 2017 pay scale.
This decision is expected to provide significant financial relief to thousands of government servants amid rising inflation.

The disparity allowance is designed to bridge pay gaps between different grades and ensure fair compensation.
