Five youngsters drown in River Jhelum, Sarai Alamgir canal

As many as five youngsters drowned while swimming in separate incidents in Sarai Alamgir and River Jhelum, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to the details, two youngsters drowned while swimming in a canal located near Jagu Head, located in Sarai Alamgir.

Both the young men were later identified as Ali Shan Dandidara, who was 19 years old, and Abdul Jabbar was 27, a resident of Gurdwaran city.

Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and started a search operation.

During the operation, one person was rescued alive while the search for another is underway.

A resident said that the district administration miserably failed to implement Section 144 in the area.

It is necessary to mention here that on July 20, 2025, three youngsters lost their lives while swimming in the River Jhelum.
