Hafiz Abdul Karim wins Punjab Senate seat with 242 votes
The counting process has concluded for the Senate election held in the Punjab Assembly, with government-backed candidate Hafiz Abdul Karim emerging victorious, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
According to the Presiding Officer, Hafiz Abdul Karim secured a clear majority with 242 votes, defeating opposition candidate Mehr Abdul Sattar, who received 99 votes.
A total of 345 votes were cast during the polling process. The result marks a decisive win for the government camp in the closely watched contest for the Senate seat from Punjab.
