Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to boost naval cooperation in high-level defence meeting
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif met with the Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in Islamabad on Monday, where both sides agreed to strengthen defence ties, with a special focus on naval cooperation and regional maritime security, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The high-level meeting included detailed discussions on enhancing joint naval exercises, training exchanges, and collaborative efforts to secure strategic sea routes in the region.
Khawaja Asif emphasised the importance of promoting interoperability and capacity-building through regular training programs and joint maritime operations.
Both sides appreciated the long-standing strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, expressing mutual resolve to deepen defence collaboration across multiple domains.
The Defence Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further enhancing defence cooperation, particularly in the context of shared regional security interests.
