Case registered against police personnel after three prisoners escape from Lahore Cantt Courts

North Cantonment police have registered a case against detained police personnel after four undertrial prisoners escaped from the judicial lock-up at the Cantt Courts, with one of them later rearrested, according to the first information report.

The case was registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Syed Hammad Hussain, posted at Misri Shah police station.

According to the FIR, police rushed to the court complex after receiving information that four accused had escaped from the bakhshi khana, the temporary lock-up used to hold prisoners brought for court appearances.

The fugitives were identified as Riaz, Hassan, Vicky and Muhammad Ashfaq.

Police chased the accused and rearrested Riaz, while Hassan, Vicky and Muhammad Ashfaq remained at large.

The FIR said Riaz was facing a narcotics case registered at Harbanspura police station.

Hassan was wanted in a murder case registered at Hadiyara police station, while Vicky was facing a drug case at Hair police station.

Muhammad Ashfaq was accused in a case involving illegal weapons registered at Hair police station.

Police launched raids to arrest the three remaining fugitives and began investigating the role of the personnel responsible for their custody.
