Ex-fiance arrested for murdering 16-year-old girl in Karachi
The Jackson investigation police team has successfully solved a challenging blind murder case and arrested the prime suspect involved in the killing of a 16-year-old girl in the Kemari area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Masroor Ahmed Jatoi, the breakthrough was achieved through continuous effort, modern technical analysis, and scientific investigation methods.
The tragic incident came to light on March 4, when the body of 16-year-old Armish was discovered on a bed inside her apartment with a noose tied around her neck. The victim, whose father had already passed away, lived alone with her mother. At the time of the crime, the victim's mother was away at work, prompting her to initially register a criminal case against unknown suspects.
During the investigation, police identified and apprehended the suspect as Faizan, the son of Muhammad Ishaq. Authorities revealed that Faizan was a close relative and the former fiance of the victim. The suspect lived with his family on an upper floor of the exact same residential building where the crime took place.
Investigators uncovered that Faizan held a deep grudge against Armish after she called off their engagement to marry someone else.
According to the initial police findings, the suspect entered Armish’s apartment on the day of the incident while her mother was out. He allegedly assaulted the teenager and subsequently strangled her to death.
In an attempt to evade suspicion, the suspect acted with cunning deception, joining both the police and the victim's grieving family in the search for the "unknown" killers immediately after the incident.
The breakthrough came under the leadership of Inspector Zubair Nawaz, the Section Investigation Officer (SIO) of Jackson police. His team utilized advanced technical analysis and professional tracking to successfully trace and arrest Faizan.
Following the evidence uncovered during interrogation, authorities have officially added Section 376 (punishment for rape) to the murder charges.
The suspect is now being presented before a court to secure his physical remand for further questioning as legal proceedings continue.
