Federal government reshuffles senior bureaucracy, appoints new secretaries

The federal government has carried out a high-level reshuffle in the civil bureaucracy, transferring and appointing several Grade 22 officers to key positions in different ministries and divisions.

According to notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Secretary of the Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division Awais Manzoor Samra has been transferred and posted as secretary of the Climate Change Division.

Samra has also been assigned the additional charge of secretary of the Water Resources Division for a period of three months, or until the appointment of a regular secretary, whichever comes first.

Meanwhile, Grade 22 officer Syed Ali Murtaza, who was serving as an officer on special duty (OSD), has been appointed secretary of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat.

In another change, Grade 22 officer Ali Tahir has been transferred from the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat and posted as secretary of the Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Division.

The Establishment Division issued separate notifications formalising the appointments and transfers.

The latest reshuffle is part of the federal government's routine administrative changes aimed at filling key positions in ministries and divisions across the federal bureaucracy.
