Two tourists killed, three injured as vehicle plunges into ravine in Kaghan Valley

Two young tourists were killed and three others injured when a vehicle carrying a group from Khanpur to the Naran-Kaghan Valley plunged into a deep ravine in the Kaghan hills, rescue officials said.

According to rescue sources, the group was travelling to the popular tourist destination when the vehicle met with the accident in the mountainous area of Kaghan.

The deceased were identified as 22-year-old Hamza Qadir, a resident of Khanpur, and 20-year-old Irfan Mughal, a resident of Nawabshah. Rescue officials said the two were cousins.

The injured included Osama, whose condition was reported to be critical. The remaining injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the accident, while rescue teams responded to the scene and recovered the victims from the ravine.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to their hometowns in Khanpur and Nawabshah after completing legal formalities.
